Corrections in any of the material which follows, however tiny, would be most welcome. And additions, of course!

VESSELS BUILT BY JOSEPH L. THOMPSON & SONS LIMITED
& predecessor & subsequent related entities/ship builders

The lists (mainly in numerical order) which follows are assembled from a number of sources - from the lists at Miramar, from records maintained by Tony Frost, from data assembled elsewhere within this site, from a 'World Ship Society' list, most especially re the earliest data, & from other lesser sources. It is, it is believed, a list of 'Joseph L. Thompson' & predecessor & subsequent built ships - commencing in 1838. But is surely incomplete especially in the earliest years. The data changes frequently as new data is received, so beware!

Miramar has a list of Joseph L. Thompson built vessels as follows: List of 21 pages, (highest hull number on page). It used to be that you could click on the links that follow & get to the relevant Miramar page. But no longer! The new procedure must be to go to Miramar (here) & log in (you must be registered to view any page). And once you are logged in, return to this page & all the following links should work for you:- 133, 163, 193, 223, 253, 285, 313, 343, 373, 404, 434, 466, 493, 523, 555, 583, 613, 643, 673, 706, 717.

VESSELS BUILT BY 'ROBERT THOMPSON' from 1838 thru 1846 - AT NORTH SANDS

VESSELS BUILT BY 'TIFFIN' from 1810 thru 1857

Such limited data as I have about 'Tiffin' is here.

A 'Tiffin' build list. The numbering is mine.

So far as I can see, members of the Tiffin family built a total of 78 vessels during the above period. 23 vessels, for which some additional data is on site, are listed below. A best efforts list of the other 55 vessels built by Tiffin follows below. The overall list may well, in the future, need to be modified.

Built by Thomas Tiffin.
