This site features, on many site pages, photographs
provided by Ray Hutcheon. And also historical images & prints from Ray's
image collection - on a whole variety of subjects related to the history of Sunderland. The webmaster became
aware of Ray's imagery via the 'Sunderland in Pictures' pages on 'Facebook',
where Ray has posted a great many images, consistently of large size & superb quality.
Ray kindly was in touch with the webmaster. To provide a fine image of a
Catalina flying boat flying low off the beach at Roker - taken during the 2013
edition of the Sunderland Air Show on Jul. 20/30 2013 - an image now featured on site
below & here.

This start on a 'Ray Hutcheon' page is to thank Ray for celebrating Sunderland's history by making his
images so widely available - & for his contributions to that purpose via this site.
The images that follow were all provided by Ray. I show them in two sections. Firstly
what I have simply termed 'archival' - images on a whole variety of subjects
selected from Ray's collection of Sunderland related materials. And secondly Ray's
own copyrighted photographs. Enjoy! But just a start on a page.
