FISHING ON THE OUSE (year unknown)
A work by Thomas M. M. Hemy that differs materially in many ways from the rest of his work - at least as such work is shown within these pages. A work of 14 x 10 inches (or 36 by 25.5 cm. if you wish). An oil on canvas. Undated.
The work was an e-Bay item in Apr. 2007, for sale by Sygun Museum of Beddgelert, Snowdonia, North Wales, who indicated that works they sell are authenticated by their curator & that a certificate of authenticity is issued with each item sold. The e-Bay item is long gone. The work is signed at lower right, but the image containing that signature is quite hard to comprehend. Should you wish to see that image, it can be seen here.
The image I show is slightly reduced in size from the original, so it can be seen in its entirety without scrolling.
SHIPPING ON THE THAMES (1883)
A work by Thomas M. M. Hemy that was sold at Sotheby's, London, on Nov. 23, 2006. A 'watercolor over pencil heightened with bodycolor, scratching out and gum arabic'. 29.7 x 50 in. or 75.5 x 127 cm. in size. We thank 'Artnet' (English, German) for kindly displaying this work on their websites.
A site visitor advises me that it sold for GBP 3,000.
