I now know quite a bit about the artist whose original painting became the above 1883 photogravure, entitled 'In the Stubble Fields'. I saw the print for sale on e-Bay by 'martin2001' of Virginia in January 2002. The data that I do have, is now in an Albert (or Albrecht) Schenck Data Page available here. As you probably know by now, Jim Martin's fine website of antique prints can be seen through his e-Bay store. Do drop by!
