Corrections in any of the material which follows, however tiny, would be most welcome. And additions, of course!SUNDERLAND SHIPBUILDERS LIMITED
In or around 1976, Sunderland Shipbuilders Limited published a booklet - a general sales or promotional booklet, it would seem, to feature its properties, i.e. the 'ship factory' at Pallion (previously Doxford) along with its two associated traditional yards - those previously of 'Sir James Laing and Sons Limited', at Deptford & of 'Joseph L. Thompson and Sons, Limited', at North Sands.
The booklet is of 20 pages. Images of the booklet have been provided to the webmaster & I present here 17 of those 20 pages. 17? I have omitted two pages which were entirely blank. And the rear cover also which is blank except for the name of the company, stated to be 'Sunderland Shipbuilders Limited'.
Each thumbnail image below is 'clickable'.

'SUNDERLAND SHIPBUILDERS LIMITED, PALLION, THE LARGEST COVERED SHIPYARD IN THE WORLD'
: Another booklet that Sunderland Shipbuilders Ltd. published was entitled 'PALLION, the largest covered shipyard in the world'. Of about 20 pages, came in a slip case. Cover image at left. It introduced, in 1976, the new covered shipyard at Pallion, with photographs, plans of the facilities, etc.
It would be a fine site addition to be able to present the booklet page by page, cover to cover, so that site visitors may read it. A copy of the booklet sold in Dec. 2011 here. The webmaster bid on the item for its inclusion on this page, but was not the high bidder.
Some day, hopefully, it will be possible to present the booklet, page by page, on this site. But not today! However, the transcribed text & the images can be read & seen at this page on John Bage's fine Pallion site.A copy of the booklet is available in the 'Tyne & Wear Archives', I learn.
